Kenneth Runkles, Founder and Managing Partner for Innovation Orange, LLC, noted, “We are really excited to be basing our company in Orange County, specifically the Town of Orange.  As a lifelong resident of rural Virginia, I am very passionate about being in a position to make an impact on my community and state.  Basing our operations in Orange really satisfies two important goals of our company, provide world class Information Technology solutions to both our federal and commercial clients and make a strong impact on our community by bringing good paying jobs and career paths to our neighbors.”

The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities.  The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones. Joining the HUBZone program makes a business eligible to compete for the program’s set-aside contracts and HUBZone-certified businesses also get a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.

The Orange County Economic Development Office worked with Innovation Orange, LLC. to successfully find a location and connect them with community business partners and resources.
